Happy St Patrick's day! Green dye put in the Chicago river
The Chicago River flows emerald green to mark St Patrick's Day as the city celebrates Ireland's patron saint. Thousands of cheering onlookers clustered along bridges in central Chicago on Saturday morning to watch members of the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Union Local begin dumping containers of dye into the river from motorboats.The annual tradition began at 9.30 am and was followed by a parade.
